Broome County opens meetings
Government meetings are finally getting the audio archive they deserve.
WSKG News began posting recordings of monthly Broome County Legislature sessions to fill a transparency gap: while meetings are livestreamed, recordings vanish and official minutes skip the reasoning behind votes [Quelle: WSKG]. The county has no public comment period, unlike Binghamton City Council and most neighboring jurisdictions. Reporter Celia Clarke pushed for the project to let people understand how their representatives actually deliberate.
